2nd MAY 2011

On this day in 2011, it was announced that one of the world's greatest criminal masterminds had been killed. On this day, Barack Obama stated that Osama Bin Laden had been found in Abbottabad, Pakistan during an operation carried out by U.S Navy Seals. Obama announced that the raid on Bin Laden's compound had lasted approximately 40 minutes. Four other people were killed in the raid. Bin Laden's body was buried at sea according to Islamic customs. On this day, the man held responsible for the 9/11 World Trade Centre attacks, the man responsible for the death of hundreds, was celebrated across the U.S and in fact across many other countries.

What's interesting is that my friend and I were talking about this issue the other day. We just randomly somehow started talking about whether or not Bin Laden was actually dead. The man was responsible for and a major influence in so many terrorist operations my friend questioned whether the U.S government had actually killed him or if he was hold up in some bunker somewhere in the U.S being questioned and interrogated.

For so many people, Bin Laden's death was a historic celebratory event. Those people should never look at this day in any other way. They should never be made to feel upset. They should always feel that justice has been served to one of the world's evilest men.

They should always feel safe. They should always feel secure.

No matter what happens.
